Manila Ocean Park Adventure

May 09, 2016

As a little get-together-slash-parting gala with my cousin and sister, who just got back from Malaysia 3 days ago, we decided to give Manila Ocean Park a try.

Actually, Metrodeal made it possible, since that was where my cousin saw these discounted tickets to the park. All we had to do was print out the Metrodeal payment for the ticket and present it to the ticket counter at the park. You will then be given an armband in which a barcode was imprinted as to what part of the park you have an access into. For a price of 799php, a pass for the Oceanarium, Trails to Antarctica, Jellies Exhibit, Birds of Prey Kingdom, Penguin Talk Show, Sea Lion show, Sharks & Ray Dry Encounter, All-Star Bird Show, Symphony Evening Show, and Amazing Story of Yexel's Museum were included.

The price was reasonable enough for the package inclusion. Imagine, paying only 799php for a 4100php worth of 10 attractions in the park! Wallets were saved by Metrodeal!

Anyway, we got there by lunchtime and grabbed ourselves food first before beginning our little adventure. We didn't like what the lunch buffet was offering so we ended up eating in a food court.

As soon as we got our stomachs be filled-up, we started our little adventure and began with Yexel's Toy MuseumIt was a little haven for some toy/cartoon/superhero fanatic out there. They got these life-sized figures and toys of Minions, Spiderman, Ironman, among others. To be honest, this was where I actually enjoyed the most since I love Ironman so much. Hahaha! Read more about my experience at Yexel's Toy Museum.

Next stop, was the Trails to Antartica. We were greeted by this big tank with at least 5 penguins in it. Oh these cute little penguins were just so adorable. And no, petting was not included with the package so we had to pay another 500php(which was good for 3persons) to meet these cuddly creatures face-to-face. It was worth it, 'coz who cares? It was all for the sake of touching, feeding and having a photo-op with penguins, right?

Right next the Penguin Exhibit was the Snow Village. Ever notice that I was wearing a dress? So yes, this was a bit of a challenge for me for I am also a cold-intolerant person. I was chilling, literally, even with the jacket that was provided (given that I was only wearing a dress). It was a room full of ice, with Santa, penguins, snowman - imitating the scenery in Antarctica. There was not much to do but to have a photo sesh in this winter-like village, so we didn't stayed here for long.

We went straight to the Jellies Exhibit which featured different kinds of Jellyfish. It was like they were dancing as they swam in the water. The added color-changing lighting made the dancing Jellyfish graceful in the water.

Next to the list was the Oceanarium. Do not be deceived by the word ocean in the Oceanarium, 'coz not only oceanic animals can you see here, but also some freshwater fishes. Basically, just like any other Oceanariums out there, it has its long underwater tunnel where you can see fishes, stingrays and sharks swimming along together. Didn't get much photo here because my body finally realized the meaning of the word "tired", though I did finish the entire track of the Oceanarium. I just let my eyes enjoy the beauty of these marine creatures first hand.

Lastly, and yes this was the last attraction we've been since we started to feel our feet swelling from all the walking we've done. Anyway, as I was saying- lastly, we headed towards the Sea Lion show. It was 3 in the afternoon and the sun was scorching hot in its highest peak so sitting in the front row seat with no roof covering was never a choice. With the seat we've taken, we still got a good view of the amazing and adorable talent performance of Isis and Vincent. I was in awe as I watched these adorable sea lions to their acts-dancing, clamping, balancing ball, kissing and doing some cool tricks.

As I have said, the Sea Lion show was the last from our list and we've still got half the attractions that we're supposed to be visiting. But we were too tired to finish the other attractions, so we decided to end our Manila Ocean Park adventure with a taste of pastas made by Uncle Ray's Brick Oven Pizza.

Even without visiting the other attractions, we still had fun. I had a good time and enjoyed our  little trip to Manila Ocean Park.
